You work in or near Heerlen; the multifaceted central municipality in Parkstad with so much to offer. The event-calendar is filled with festivals, exhibitions and concerts. That's exactly why Heerlen was voted event-city of the year. The city is also turning into an urban open air museum. Dozens of murals have been created by (inter)national top artists.

A lot of organisations and companies have their headquarters in Heerlen, e.g. DSM, APG, CBS, Medtronic, OU, Doc Morris and the Dutch IRS. In the Brightlands Smart Services Campus, several companies work in close conjunction with the government and educational institutions regarding digital technology. On Campus, but also elsewhere in the city, a lot of small businesses and creative minds are working on smart services.

Cultura Nova
To get to know more about each other and the city you work in, the municipality of Heerlen would like to invite you for a meeting during Cultura Nova: the annual, ten-day long international theatre-festival, taking place in and around Heerlen. You are most welcome to join us for diner and a free show on Thursday, August 24th. We have compiled a special programme for you:

17.30: We welcome you in the Mirror-tent on the Burg. van Grunsvenplein, with a word of welcome by Martin de Beer, City Councillor for Economy and Employment, Sports and Service
18.00: Diner
19.00: More about Cultura Nova and tonight's show by Fiedel van der Hijden of Cultura Nova. This includes a tour through Parkstad Limburg Theaters
20.00: Première of the show 'The 7 Fingers' (optional)
After the show drinks are served in the Mirror-tent to better get to know each other.

Regarding the Newcomer-service
This meeting is part of the Newcomer-service concept. The concept was initiated by the city of Aachen, who sought cooperation on the subject with the city of Heerlen. To increase the bond between people and their city, various activities are being organised by people from the knowledge trade. This provides you with a perfect opportunity to meet people with various backgrounds and from various trades.
